Community Colours

Over $14,000 at local Alzheimer's walk

n Sunday a group of warm-hearted people showed their community colours and support for people stricken with Alzheimer's by walking to raise money. This year, the community met 72 per cent of their goal raising a whopping $14,504 in donations for the Alzheimer Society of B.C. Those involved are grateful to Ron Angell who worked for months to bring the walk together. For more information about the walk and donor list visit here.

Special thanks to Chilliwack district 33 secondary students, volunteer steering committee, event day volunteers, Royal Bank volunteers and to all the participants who helped raise the much-needed funds for the Alzheimer's Society of BC.

Dignitaries included MP Mark Strahl, Chilliwack City Councillor Ken Popove,  John Martin - no show, also Sara Wagner from the Alzheimer's Association of BC, Ana Macedo emcee, Lucy Arruda from the Investor's Group, Karen Bunner from the BC Community Responder Networks, Robert Saucier from the Chilliwack Peer Councilling Network, Carolyn Pinsent for the crowd warm-up, Laura Clark fromthe Prmary Care Seniors Clinic, Sara Wagner who sang the National Anthem, Piper Thomas Merry and RCMP constable Jordan Davidson.
