Ramble On

12 venues this weekend for community event

Submitted by Peter Whitlock, RLFI

he annual Ryder Lake Flea Market has been combined with the Farmers' Market and the Taste of Ryder Lake Pot Luck Dinner.

These events will all be held on September 20th at the Ryder Lake Hall.

The Flea Market & Farmers' Markets will be held from 9am to 2pm and the Taste of Ryder Lake Pot Luck Dinner will be at 6pm.

Tables for the Flea Market are $15. Inside tables are limited so please book early if you wish an inside location. Outside tables are allowed unlimited space.

If you have not attended a Ryder Lake Pot Luck Dinner we encourage you to do so.  The food is really amazing and it is a great way to get to know your neighbours.  The idea is to try to bring something made from produce you have grown in Ryder Lake and you will be impressed with the variety and quality of what is available. (It is okay also just to bring a regular dish, bag of rolls etc.) Always fun community events.

Of course this is the Weekend of the biggest Ryder Lake Community event - The Ryder Lake Ramble. There are 12 venues on the Ramble including three new ones. The gourmet cooks will be doing their thing at the Hall both Saturday 10 to 5 and Sunday Noon to 5.  The plant sale will held both days with hundreds of amazing plants available again this year. All funds raised from this event contribute to the Hall maintenance account to keep the Ryder Lake Hall the great community meeting place it is.

Herb Hinterberger with his "Accords" will be entertaining you from 11:30 to 1 on Saturday in the Hall.  There will be displays in the Hall from the Nature Conservancy regarding the Toad project and our own Chilliwacky Gogos - the Grandmothers for Grandmothers in Africa will have a display of the great work they do. The Chilliwacky Gogos will be having another Name That Tune fundraiser in the Hall October 18th.

This is the Weekend to Ramble - get involved and have fun.
