Senior bicycle rider injured in collision with vehicle

slight miscalculation on a bicycle, sent a man in his 70s to the hospital with possible head injuries Friday.


The senior was travelling west in the 45800 block of Victoria Ave. when he unfortunately encountered a car door.

According to witnesses, a woman was loading her toddler from a buggy into the car when the man slammed into the open door, narrowly missing the woman and child.

The man bashed his head when falling and remained laying on the pavement while BCAS paramedics responded. He was stabilized and then taken to Chilliwack General Hospital.

There was speculation that the senior had been drinking, but this has not been confirmed by the RCMP who attended the scene.
