The Quintessence Breastfeeding Challenge began in 2001 in British Columbia, Canada with 856 children at 26 sites. Last year, 4,373 children at 216 sites in 18 countries took part. The Breastfeeding Challenge continues to grow
globally as additional people join in. Breastfeeding and donor milk-banking need support around the world. Organizers hope for even greater participation in 2011!

Week in Canada. Events like these help to bring
awareness to the importance of breastfeeding.
The Breastfeeding Challenge is sponsored by the Quintessence Foundation, a non-profit group providing education to parents and professionals about breastfeeding. Chilliwack’s event is organized by La Leche League Chilliwack, a mother-to-mother support group that provides monthly meetings at Chilliwack Family Place.
