Hope RCMP looking for graffiti vandal after 50 sites located

etween August 31, 2011, at approximately 9:00 pm and September 1, 2011, at approximately 6:00 am, the town of Hope was vandalized by graffiti.

Someone has spray painted graffiti on several buildings in Hope over night. The Hope RCMP has located over 50 different locations of graffiti tags. Some of the businesses that were targeted were Lordco, Sunshine Lanes, Lucky Dollar Store, District of Hope, and Hope Community Services, to name a few. This type of vandalism costs tax payers and business owners thousands of dollars to clean up and re-paint.

There was a graffiti artist busy in January and February of this year, however police have not confirmed if the incidents are related.

The RCMP are looking for the person responsible so they can be held accountable. If you have any information you are asked to call the Hope RCMP at 604-869-7750 or report a tip anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
