MP Strahl looks to constituents for budget comments

hilliwack-Fraser Canyon, MP Mark Strahl is once again encouraging area residents to provide their input for this year’s federal budget.


“Thanks to our Economic Action Plan, Canada’s economy continues to grow with the best jobs record in the G-7 and a balanced budget on the horizon. Moving forward we want to hear from Canadians on how they think we can best keep Canada growing in an uncertain global economy,” said Strahl.


Budget 2014 will focus on job creation, promoting economic growth, and securing Canada’s long-term prosperity –  all while returning to balanced budgets in 2015. To this end, the federal government also welcomes suggestions on how it can further improve government efficiency and reduce unnecessary spending.


“A lot of great ideas on past budgets have from come outside of the Ottawa bubble. That is why I want to encourage area residents to take some time to let the government know what they would like included in the next budget,” said Strahl.


Canadians are reminded that they can provide their input online, as the federal government has launched a pre-budget consultation through the federal Finance Department website. All those interested in participating can find more information at
