Hockey team looks for ideas on how to celebrate their first 25 years with Chances breakfast Nov 29

ou may be surprised to realize that 2014 will be the 25th Anniversary of the Chilliwack Chiefs – 25 years since the Club was started here – 25 years that the Chiefs (with a brief interlude in Langley) have been providing you and all Chilliwack fans with great BCHL hockey entertainment while sending hundreds of young men off to a brighter future through education.

Not surprisingly, we at the Club are making plans to celebrate the 25th Anniversary with our fans – past and present – and with the community of Chilliwack as a whole.

The slogan of this team is “Chiefs Hockey – Chilliwack’s Team”.

That means quite simply that this team belongs to the community and the fans and sponsors who support and enjoy it. You, as a member of that community may wish to have a say in how we celebrate the Anniversary and how your Club should be operated over the next 25 years.

To that end, we would like to invite you to participate in a Fan Forum and open discussion on those matters so that the Club can create a celebration and operating plan that is in concert with your thoughts and wishes.

Our friends at Chances Chilliwack will host a breakfast meeting on Friday, November 29 with Chiefs President Glen Ringdal, Head Coach and General Manager Harvey Smyl, Marketing Director Barry Douglas and Office/Ticket Manager Andrea Laycock in attendance.

They will outline early celebration plans and answer questions about any Club matter of concern or interest to you. And, most importantly, they will seek your ideas, suggestions, constructive criticisms and desires for your Club for 2014 and beyond.

The Fan Forum Meeting will be held:

When:  Friday, November 29, 2013 – 8:00 am

Where: The Well, Chances Chilliwack, 8180 Young Rd.  (Minors are now allowed in Chances)

Cost:  $10 donation at the door with net proceeds to the Chiefs/UFV Education Scholarship Fund.

Contact Andrea Laycock via e-mail here to let us know you are coming (so we know how many eggs to cook).

Thank you for supporting your Chiefs and for participation in planning our celebration and our future.
