Oasis Factor A Step Closer To Aviva Funds

A sustainable Chilliwack community within a community needs votes

ebbie Walker, developer of the Oasis Factor project in Chilliwack, has had her sustainable and environmentally-happy seniors housing idea short-listed for yet another round of voting in the annual Aviva Community Fund contest.

The contest calls for ideas that have a positive impact and give those with "ideas" the chance to make a lasting change in their community. They are voted on by people across Canada and the most popular ideas are shortlisted for more rounds of voting. Winners will have access to stakes in the $1,000,000 Aviva Community Fund.

Walker's OASIS made it to round three with voting set to commence on Monday, Nov. 15 and she's asking folks to have a look at what she's doing in Chilliwack and vote for her project.

Briefly, OASIS is a pilot project that has been developed as a unique multi-residential, all inclusive, affordable, self-sustaining community for the 55+ crowd by incorporating an active living environment that goes beyond assisted living.

The OASIS is an opportunity to showcase seniors and families involved in a self-directed and nurturing environment where they can enjoy a positive and healthy quality of life in a Saferhome Standards Society Certified, environmentally & technically sound home.
