Fairy Tale actors enhance children's storytime

Submitted by Gwyneth Jones Chilliwack Public Library

ver read a fairy tale and wished you could meet the princess or shake hands with the brave knight? Imagine the story coming to life right before your eyes? That is exactly what will happen at the Chilliwack Library Tuesday, November 16 during “Pajama Storytime” when Mother Goose classics are shared, followed by characters from the Players Guild’s upcoming production, “Mother Goose—The Pantomime” greeting the children afterwards.

The Chilliwack Library is pleased to build a partnership with the Cultural Centre and Players Guild, with plans to continue to bring art to life in the New Year by highlighting Dr. Seuss and Pinocchio, coinciding with the Chilliwack School of Performing Arts’ “Seussical the Musical” and the Chilliwack Arts & Cultural Centre Society’s “The Adventures of Pinocchio”.

To engage young audiences with Mother Goose classics, the Chilliwack Library will be featuring a variety of the famous tales from November 9-19, including the traditional Mother Goose tale of a poor widow who meets a good fairy. Plus, during the following week, a contest will be held at the library for all children to enter to win a pair of tickets to “Mother Goose—The Pantomime”, presented by the Players Guild November 24 - December 4, 2010.

Come to the library in your PJs on Tuesday November 16, from 7:00-7:45 pm and enjoy the mayhem and fun of Mother Goose, and meet some of your favourite storybook characters! No reservations are needed.

Secure your tickets to “Mother Goose—The Pantomime” in person (9:30am-9:00pm), by calling the Centre Box Office at 604-391-SHOW(7469) or purchase tickets online at
