Child Passenger Safety  Workshop

Chilliwack parents to master the art of buckling-up Dec. 15

Submitted by Lennea Durant, BCAA Traffic Safety Fnd.

earn more about how to keep your child safe when traveling in a vehicle. Attend a BCAA Traffic Safety Foundation/ICBC Child Passenger Safety New Parent Workshop or car seat information sessions.

The New Parent Workshops are 1-2 hours and are designed to help expecting parents and parents of newborns become more familiar with the correct use and installation of infant car seats. Participants learn about child seat laws; how to disassemble & reassemble their infant seat; how to harness the child properly; and how to correctly use and install the seat in their vehicle.

At the child car seat information sessions, certified child passenger safety educators spend approximately 20-minutes in a one on one session with parents showing them the proper installation and use pertaining to their child's car seat stage and answering questions.

In B.C., all drivers are responsible for transporting all children in secure age and weight-appropriate child car seats until their 9th birthday or 4' 9" in height.

Upcoming New Parent Workshops are by donation to BCAA's Traffic Safety Foundation

If you are unable to attend the session in your area, or would like more information, call 1-877-247-5551 to speak with a certified Child Passenger Safety Educator or visit:
