The annual Cultus Lake Parade is a hit with locals. This year it's slated for June 10th.

he Cultus Lake Parks Board announced Friday that they met last month to discuss a few topics, and among those was the summer events calendar.

"We are thinking of starting off the summer with a concert at the plaza,"  Rose Turcasso, events planning manager told the Board.

There was talk about a concert at the plaza early in the summer. The lineup for that isn't known yet.

The main part of the Board's discussion was centered around Cultus Lake Days June 10th. They want to begin celebrations that day with a pancake breakfast.

"We are hoping the Cultus Lake Fire Department will be hosting it," said Turcasso.

The highlight of the event features the annual parade which will include various contests.

Also, watch for local band "Head Over Heels" in the Gazebo that day with a beer garden nearby open from 3:30pm to 9:30pm.

July will be busy in the park again this year with the annual Movie Nights: July 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th.

Steve Elliot will be at the park August 18th with his Elvis tribute show and the a possibility for a family-friendly community corn roast and hot dog feed that Presley would be proud of.

There's always a traffic issue during events so the Board is taking another look at maximizing space for parking.

Of course the catalyst for any event are the volunteers. So the Board is putting out a call for folks who want to offer up their time.

Potential volunteers can contact the Parks Board office at:

Cultus Lake Park 4165 Columbia Valley Highway 604 858 3334

The next Park Board meeting is March 15, 2017.
