he Westcoast Ride to Live for Prostate cancer research returns to Chilliwack and the Fraser Valley this May 27th and we're looking for your help! Last year motorcyclist participating in The Ride to Live raised $140,000. All monies go to prostate research and support for men diagnosed with this disease.
The statistics on prostate cancer in Canada are shocking and the Vancouver-Chilliwack Team of the WESTCOAST Motorcycle Ride to Live continue to raise awareness about prostate cancer prevention.
Itís estimated over 1 million Canadian Men have prostate cancer, only 20% have been diagnosed and 80% of men donít know they have this cancer yet. Approximately 1 in 6 men will be affected by prostate cancer in their lifetime making prostate cancer the second leading cause of cancer death in Canadian Men... approximately 90% of men could be saved if this cancer is detected early enough.
From that point the ride continues to Mission where the Chilliwack ride will join up with the Vancouver ride. The now combined ride will continue and end at Fraser Downs Racetrack and Casino in Cloverdale. The ride celebration will include live music, prizes, food, classic car show, vintage emergency vehicle show and much more! Registration is only $25. Raise $100 or more in pledges and registration is free!
