Champions Are Made, Not Born
Excitement building with start of Grizzlies season
Released by Laurie Smith, Head Coach
e are very excited to be starting the first high school football program in Chilliwack for over 30 years – and very enthusiastic about the group of players we have already worked with in the combine and conditioning sessions. For those of you recently admitted into the school, we have already held a player combine (this past Saturday) and three conditioning sessions with Mr. Larsen.
We will continue conditioning after spring break (Wednesday March 28 at
7am in the gym) and no-gear practices start the same day (Wednesday
March 28) at 3:30 in the afternoon on the field. If you (or your child)
have been recently admitted, you need to have the consent form signed by
your current principal to participate in Graham Football this spring.
The team is having their first fundraiser dinner Saturday night at the
Rendevous Restaurant in Chilliwack at 5:30. The tickets are $20 each and
include a souvlaki dinner with Greek salad and roast potatoes and rice.
$10 of each ticket sold goes back to the team. There are still tickets
remaining for the 5:30 seating, contact the coach
here for tickets. Also
Rick Klassen, former BC Lion all time great and Chilliwack grad, will be
there. There is also a silent auction with lots of great items.
Games are normally played on Wednesdays. Please check the website for
the schedule. Although the daily schedule is more intense than other
school sports or community football, the players will have evenings and
weekends free – and our expectation is that they will get most of their
school work done in study hall.
