his morning, the B.C. government, police and ICBC will launch this summer’s CounterAttack campaign in time for the Canada Day long weekend.

Impaired driving remains one of the top three contributing factors for fatal car crashes in B.C., with an average of two people killed in impaired related crashes on Canada Day alone.

With summer now underway, we’re asking drivers to plan ahead for a safe ride home. If their activities involve alcohol we’re reminding them to take their turn as the designated driver this summer to get their friends and family home safely.

Police across the province will be out in full force this summer looking for drivers impaired by drugs or alcohol at CounterAttack roadchecks.
