nce again the Chilliwack Hospital & Health Care Foundation has found a creative, innovative way to educate, engage and inspire the community of Chilliwack to live a happier, healthier lifestyle.
They’re calling it Health Heroes Week and are asking people to pull out their capes, start their bat mobiles and get engaged in healthy living. The idea behind this week is to raise money and awareness for CHHCF and the health of our community.
Daily business to business blitzes, presentations to staff and healthy activities are just a few of the ways the Chilliwack Hospital & Health Care Foundation will be engaging new partners to join the movement to create a healthier community.
“Not only do I get to wear my superman costume, but I get to run around and inspire people to get up, get going, and find their inner super hero. We believe that our goal to change the health statistics of our region is a BIG one and we can’t do it alone which is why we need more health heroes to join us.” Chloe Popove explains.
CHHCF has engaged partners like MNP who decided to fuel their employees with fresh fruit and vegetables and host lunch time walks every day this week, Envision invited CHHCF to make a presentation to staff and Decades Coffee Club is featuring a healthy selection of Rooibas beverages with part of each purchase going to the Foundation. Residents of the region from Chilliwack to Boston Bar will be invited to enter an online Facebook contest at the end of Health Heroes Week with some amazing prizes generously donated by Ascend Fitness Coaching, Ken’s Tire and Wheel, 30 Minute Hit, Sardis Park VQA BC Wine Store, Mt. Waddingtons Outdoors, Decades Coffee Club and Lakeside Beach Club at Cultus Lake.
“This is our first ever Health Heroes Week and we are thrilled to see how creative local businesses and organizations were in finding a way to participate! It isn’t difficult to make little changes that move us toward a healthier life and we are working with our partners to make the healthy choice the easy choice for everyone in our community.” says Donna Dixson, Director of Community Relations.
The Chilliwack Hospital & Health Care Foundation is committed to serving as a facilitator for community collaboration and cooperation. They have one simple goal- to improve the health of you and your family. Not only do they want to see Chilliwack being the healthiest community in BC in the future, but they work hard to find the most fun, innovative and interactive ways to involve the community in making that happen.
