Gun Amnesty Working

Mounties seeing results as various guns relinquished

Released by Cpl. Len vanNieuwenhuizen, Chwk RCMP

mid-month tally for Chilliwack RCMP reflects the amnesty is having success and is taking unwanted weapons out of the community and preventing possible harm.

As of today, Chilliwack RCMP have received 23 long guns, 3 hand guns, 1 pellet pistol, 2 bows, as well as several hundred rounds of ammunition.

"The amnesty lasts until June 30th and we encourage the public to make full use of this." advises Cpl. Len vanNieuwenhuizen. "It only serves to make our community a safer place".

A reminder to the public that if they wish to turn in any weapons or firearms, they should phone the Detachment first at 604-792-4611 and an officer will attend your residence. Please do not bring fire arms or weapons to the RCMP office.
