Prospera donates $10,000 to victims of wildfires

Tashon Ziara

ritish Columbians are facing massive wildfires that have triggered evacuations in several communities, particularly in the central region of our province.

Fast moving flames have forced more than 14,000 people from their homes and they need urgent help. Prospera is supporting Canadian Red Cross efforts on the ground to provide assistance to

those affected.

Prospera has donated $10,000 to the relief efforts and is encouraging members who want to help out to support the Red Cross as well.

“When disaster strikes, the Red Cross is there to provide immediate assistance with evacuation, housing, food and other emergency needs,” said Shawn Good, President & CEO of Prospera Credit Union. “With so many fires started all at once, we’re grateful for their quick response to help everyone get to safety.”

Member donations will help provide immediate relief such as cots, blankets, family reunification and financial assistance for food, clothing and personal needs. Beyond meeting immediate needs, donations may also help families get back into their homes and go towards more long-term recovery, resiliency and preparedness.

Donations can be made online at

On behalf of Prospera, we would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation for your donation during these difficult moments.
