ust before 10 a.m. Saturday, witnesses made a citizen's arrest on a woman who was allegedly seen stealing from a business downtown. She was reported to have had a pair of scissors with her.

According to Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Cst. Cynthia Kershaw, a witness gave chase and caught up with her on Yale Rd. where he detained her until police arrived.

Kershaw said the incident is still under investigation adding there were no serious injuries.

"A business in the downtown area had a female shoplifter who was chased down by a regular customer and held until police arrival," said Kershaw.

As the suspect was being taken into custody, she complained that her new jewelry was a little tight, and Mounties immediately adjusted the handcuffs before placing her in the cruiser.

More details as they emerge later.
