Grants for Local Groups

Funding available to fill gaps in disabled services

ocal not-for-profit organizations are being encouraged by Chilliwack-Fraser Canyon MP, Mark Strahl to answer an open call for proposals under the Social Development Partnerships Program - Disability.

 

"Through this program the Conservative Government is tackling the barriers faced by people with disabilities and promote greater social inclusion," said Strahl.


Canadian not-for-profit organizations can receive up to $250,000 per year for up to three years for projects that support the Government of Canada's commitments under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

 

Projects must focus on one or more of the following priorities: active living, accessibility, vulnerable populations and increasing awareness of disability-related issues.


The deadline for applications is 11:59 PM Eastern Time, August 17, 2012. For more details, interested organizations should visit the following web site:
