Sixteen players braved the wind and rain for Tuesdays Optimist Fred Wellsby Junior Divot tournament for players aged 15 and under.

First low gross and overall winner for the day was Chilliwack resident Gabe Dekany in the 13 - 15 year category with an impressive 3 over par score of 59. The rain didn't seem to bother Gabe because he says he spent a lot of time on rain soaked greens in England before coming to Chilliwack. His win, which included three birdies in a row on the 15th, 16th and 17th holes, qualifies him for the Championship Tournament at Royalwood golf course on July 10th, along with the winner from Kinkora Golf Course on Monday, Ryan Wong.

Second low gross in the 13 - 15 year old class went to Jake Dewaal from Aldergrove with 63 and third place with a 64 went to Nick Friesen who came all the way from Vernon.
