A mellifluous summer at the park

ocal band No Time Flat played cool jazz to an audience of a couple of dozen lazed around on the grass in Salish park Wednesday. The park show was part of the Music and More summer concert series hosted by the Fraser Valley Regional Library.

 

Evening concerts are slated throughout July and August, so don't forget to mark your calendar and set aside some time to support local musicians.

  • July 11 - Steve Hillis. Sit back and relax to some of your favourite country songs.

  • July 18 - Wylie and the Other Guy. The hardest working duo in the valley will sing some of your favourite oldies. Wylie's alter-ego is Rosie Ribbonstar.

  • July 25 - Sweetwater. How sweet it is! These perennial senior performers always put on a great show and are well loved in the community.

  • August 1 - Hong Kong Cowboy. The name says it all. Rhinestones too?

  • August 8 - Lisa Scyner and the Band. Cabaret, Broadway and your favourite oldies.

  • August 15 - Mirage. Country, pop and guests.

  • August 22 - Dixieland Memories. Dixie hits to get your toes tappin'.

The City of Chilliwack and Chilliwack Progress are the major sponsors for the event.

 

The shows are also presented by; Chilliwack Community Arts Council, Chilliwack Academy of Music, Chilliwack Museum and Archives, Chilliwack Family YMCA, The Great Blue Heron Reserve Society and the Chilliwack School of Performing Arts.
