ust after 2:15 P.M. Sunday, a witness at Gill Rd. called 9-1-1 and reported two people were in the Fraser River clinging to an overturned canoe. SAR and RCMP units were dispatched. Luckily for the canoeists, a passing boat pulled the pair out and handed them over to rescue teams who then took them to Jesperson boat launch where paramedics were waiting. One of the paddlers, an elderly male, was taken to hospital possibly suffering from mild hypothermia.
