Residents safe after fire breaks out in basement
Residents are told by a firefighter they can't return to their home until investigation is complete.
house fire in the 9300 block of Woodbine Ave. at around 10:15 P.M. on Saturday, put several residents and two dogs on the street in the pounding rain.
The blaze, which began in the basement of the home, is under investigation by the City of Chilliwack Fire Department.
A full contingent of emergency services personnel, including BC Ambulance Paramedics and RCMP, were on the scene and assisting displaced residents.
There is no word on the cause of the fire, and residents were not allowed back in the home until the fire department had concluded their investigation.
