Pedestrian Hurt in Accident
Woman airlifted to Royal Columbian Hospital with serious injuries

young woman was seriously hurt after being struck by a car at First Ave. and Charles St. just after 6 P.M. Saturday.
It's not clear how it happened, but according to witnesses, the woman was thrown 25 feet.
BC Ambulance paramedics stabilized the woman before moving her to the Chilliwack airport were a Medivac chopper was waiting to airlift her to Royal Columbian Hospital. There is no word on her condition at this time.
Pedestrians shouldn't assume drivers can see them, even when they're in a marked crosswalk. Wearing something reflective at night can mean drivers have a better chance of seeing you.
