Tuesday's forecast of 11°C still no record
This dog was enjoying the Chilliwack Weather on Thursday.
eather extremes are becoming more commonplace. For example, January is supposed to be the coolest month of the year with an average daytime high of 5°C and overnight low of 0°C in Chilliwack.
But this year, a mid-winter warm spell is thawing thermometers across the city and the balmy weather is expected to continue for the next several days with daytime highs reaching about 10°C and peaking Tuesday at 11°C.
As freakishly warm as 11°C sounds, it's still not a local record.
In January 2009, the mercury rocketed up to 12.7°C and in 2012 dipped to -13.8 °C, the warmest and coldest months respectively since 1990.
