Chilliwack Gets La Nina'd

Record broken overnight Tuesday after almost a foot of snow slams city in less than 12 hours

chools were closed and traffic ground to a halt Wednesday as Chilliwack was whacked with 28cm. (11 in.) of snow overnight. Environment Canada was unable to respond to a call from the Voice prior to press time however according to a report in the Progress, this was a 12-hour record for Chilliwack.

 

Last year tied 2005 for the hottest year ever on the planet according to the Global Historical Climatology Network who said Wednesday that 2010 was also the wettest on record. Rain and snowfall patterns varied greatly around the world.

 

Rain heavy at times is expected for the next week
