About Chilliwack Curling Club
The Chilliwack Curling Club has been in operation in its present location since 1954. Our facility is the Premier Curling facility in the Eastern Fraser Valley, and also has one of the best banquet facilities in the city.
We have 12 Regular Curling leagues, a Masters League, The Aquadel Menís Competitive League, a very successful Junior Program, having produced teams that have represented our Club, and City, at both the Provincial and National levels, winning the Nationals in 2004, and sponsorship of a High School programme that has Girls and Boys teams that have regularly won their School Division, to compete annually in the Provincial High School Championships.
Our building hosts numerous local and Club Bonspeils throughout the year, along with many different Fraser Valley, Provincial, National, and International Competitions. During the 2010 Season, we successfully hosted the Curl BC 2010 Provincial Mixed Championship. the 2010 Provincial High School Championship, the ICBC Bonspeil, the PCMCA Playdowns, and the BC Provincial Club Challenge Playoff. In 2006 we hosted the Continental Cup, which brought the 12 best teams in the World to Chilliwack, giving our City and Club wonderful exposure through television and Media coverage, to the World.
In 2008 and 2009, our Club saw a re-energized process begin, through the development of a multi-sided, Long Term Strategic Plan. Since that plan has begun unfolding, our Club has seen a general increase in membership and utilization of the facility.
A Teaching Clinic for new Members as well as Strategy Clinics, and our Presidentís Newsletter, to improve Communication, has seen our membership climb to over 600. Throughout the Curling season, we have over 1000 people each week, in our Club participating, and countless others in the seats and in the Lounge, watching curling and attending functions.
We are continuing this development process, and are striving to introduce new people to our Game, and enhance the fun for our existing members. With the success we enjoyed from last Season, we definitely are well on our way.
