Honk if you believe in Pluto
Submitted by Georgia Nicols, MA
strology is a patterning of knowledge that helps us to predict things by seeing recurring cycles. One of these cycles that is taking place right now helps to explain what is happening in Egypt. I’m referring to the cycle of Pluto. Pluto takes roughly 250 years to go through all 12 signs, and one of the things that Pluto rules is countries. Meanwhile, back at Town Hall, the sign of Capricorn rules governments.
After more than two centuries, Pluto returned to the sign of Capricorn in November 2008, the very day that President Barack Obama was elected. The election of this man to the highest office in the land, of the most powerful county in the world, was a revolutionary event.
Pluto is still in Capricorn, and will stay there until 2024. What does this mean?
Let’s look at the last time this happened: The last time Pluto was in Capricorn was from 1762-1779. Hey — wasn’t that the time of the American Revolution, the Industrial Revolution, and the French Revolution? Bingo! In fact, the Boston Tea Party took place in 1773, and we certainly have heard that echo in the news.
While Pluto is in Capricorn, we can expect repressive regimes to be challenged. And while some planets auger moderate reforms, Pluto represents the forceful tearing down of something in order to rebuild it for a superior result. Even in a minor way – Pluto is all about recovering, refinishing, refurbishing, restoring, renovating, and redoing anything. Obviously, to reupholster something or refinish something, we first must tear it down or strip it back to the bare-bones and start again, right?
This is the impetus that is afoot today.
President Mubarak of Egypt has been in power for 30 years. The Egyptian people want a change. Similarly, in Tunisia, President Ben Ali who was in power since 1987 has fled the country just this month. More revolutionary change! Demonstrations against corruption in government are now taking place in New Delhi, the capital of India as I write these words. In lesser ways, every government of the world will feel radical changes taking place because the masses demand it.
"May you live in interesting times" was actually a Chinese curse.
Incidentally, this returning cycle of Pluto in Capricorn is why it was easy for me to predict that President Obama would be elected – which I did, by writing an article before that election that was printed in the Chicago Sun-Times, the National Post, the Calgary Herald, and the Vancouver Province.
Are they still selling bumper stickers that say “Honk if you believe in Pluto?”
