Crash report prompts RCMP to refocus on problem traffic areas

Released by Cst. tracy Wolbeck, Chwk RCMP UFVRD

recent collection of data regarding traffic collisions in Chilliwack was analyzed by the Upper Fraser Valley RCMP Crime Analyst, Raman Dhaliwal.

The Chilliwack RCMP Traffic Unit will now be altering their work shifts based on this most recent data.

"It does not make sense for us to be working at times when collisions are at their lowest," said Cpl. Lee Dyson of the Chilliwack Traffic Unit. "These statistics are an invaluable resource to us that we will use to guide our enforcement."

The area with the highest incidence of collisions was the downtown core. Time of day also appears to be a significant factor. The Chilliwack RCMP Traffic Unit asks that everyone please be aware of these latest statistics and drive with caution and consideration.
