e are pleased to announce our upcoming Free Osteoporosis Education Forum in our community – “Building Better Bones Together”. This forum will focus primarily on educating participants on the latest developments in osteoporosis as well as improving their quality of life.

This forum will take place on Saturday, March 10th, 1 – 3:30pm and will be held at the Lynnwood Retirement Residence, 9168 Corbould Street here in Chilliwack.

The Education forum is sponsored by Osteoporosis Canada and organized and run by our own local volunteers.

As you may know, recent studies indicate that:

  • One in 3 women and one in five men will suffer from an osteoporotic fracture during their lifetime!

  • More than 230,000 of the 270,000 British Columbians with the disease don’t even know they have the disease!

  • Osteoporosis is more common than heart attack, stroke and breast cancer combined Over 80% of fracture patients are never offered assessment and/or treatment for osteoporosis.

The Educational forum will include presentations by the following speakers:

  • Irm Matthes, Vancouver Chapter, Osteoporosis Canada

  • Anita Maier, Chilliwack Bone Mineral Density Centre

  • Karen Besner, Osteofit Instructor, Chilliwack YMCA

We would very much appreciate your support for our event.  We are confident that our standards will be very high and professional and the attendance is expected to be significant.   We plan to have a number of door prizes to add to the fun of the event and are currently seeking door prize donations from local merchants.

As an event supporter, we will recognize your company/business in the event program as well as make a special mention from the podium.

We thank you in advance for your consideration and also hope you just might be interested to attend the Forum.  Hope to see you there!
