Brazen Thieves

RCMP seek suspects after 82-yr-old victimized by B&E

Released by Cst. Tracy Wolbeck, Chwk RCMP

n February 23, 2012, at approximately 11:20 AM, the Chilliwack RCMP were called to a residential break and enter in the 9000 block of Annis Road.

The elderly resident of the home came home to find two males ransacking her residence. As she entered, the two males pushed past her and fled the residence.

Several items are missing from the residence. The most notable is a pair of earrings belonging to the victim's mother. "A crime like this goes so far beyond the monetary value of belongings," said Cst. Tracy Wolbeck. "This is an 82 year old woman who has never experienced anything like this before. Thankfully she was unharmed and was able to provide us with a good vehicle description as well as a partial licence plate number. Most people in that situation would not be that alert."

The suspect vehicle is described as an older model dark green Jimmy/Blazer with rust on the passenger side rocker panels. It is a very distinct looking vehicle. Suspect number 1 is described as a Caucasian male in his late 30's, slim build, short hair and short in stature. Suspect number 2 is described as a Caucasian male over 6 feet tall with a large build.

Police believe the vehicle could be involved in other break and enters throughout the Valley.

PLEASE DO NOT APPROACH THIS VEHICLE. If you see this vehicle, please contact the Chilliwack RCMP immediately at 604 792-4611.
