Crime In Your Hood

Mounties release list of areas targeted recently by thieves in the city

airfield Island: Young Rd to Beverly Drive (Young Road, Clare Avenue, Elliot Avenue, Strathcona Road, Fairwood Drive.). In this area there have been 5 property crimes between January 9 to February 3, 2012, which include 1 break and enter, 2 theft from vehicles and 2 auto thefts.

Downtown Chilliwack between Chilliwack Central and Yale HOTSPOT:
Between Chilliwack Central Road and Maple Avenue, and between Charles Street and Broadway Street. In this area there have been 19 property crimes which include 7 residential break and enters, 1 other break and enter, and 11 vehicle crimes (8 thefts from vehicle and 3 auto thefts).

Railway Avenue to Exhibition Park to Young Road HOTSPOT:

Close to Exhibition Park down to Railway Avenue and between Ashwell Road and Young Road (Corbould Street, Hodgins Avenue, Westview Avenue, Edwards Street). In this area there have been 10 thefts from vehicles from January 9 to February 4, 2012.

“The Vibe” HOTSPOT:

The Vibe located in the 45500 block of Yale Road has had 8 vehicle crimes very close together between January 16 and
February 4, 2012, which include 2 attempt auto thefts and 6 theft from vehicles.

Young Road Area HOTSPOT:

Young Road between Airport Road and Hocking Avenue (also on Southlands Drive and Hilton Drive). In this area there have been 8 property crimes from January 8 to February 5, 2012, including 4 thefts from vehicles and 4 break and enters into
businesses.

South Chilliwack:
Yale Road / Lickman Road / Evans Parkway: Along Yale Road from Evans Parkway to Lickman Road (also Progress Way and Aitken Road). There have been 5 property crimes from January 6 - January 26, 2012, which include 3 break and enters to businesses and 2 thefts from vehicles.

 

Spruce Drive up to Luckakuck Way (between Evans Road and Vedder Road) HOTSPOT:

Along Luckakuck Way, Knight Road, Evans Road, Jasper Drive, and Wells Road. In this area there have been 13 property crimes from January 10 to February 4, 2012, which include 1 business break and enter, 4 auto thefts and 8 thefts from vehicles.

Garrison Crossing and Watson Glen Park HOTSPOT:

Property crimes continue around Garrison Crossing and Watson Glen Park area, on Watson Road, Vedder Road, Cowichan Street, Carter Road, Kathleen Drive and Shawnigan Crescent. There have been 8 vehicle crimes in and around the Garrison Crossing residential area between January 18 and February 3, 2012, which include 1 attempt auto theft and 1 actual auto theft.

Rural Chilliwack
Rural Yale Road HOTSPOT: Rural East Chilliwack (Yale Road, Muirhead Street, Nevin Road) between Chapman Road and McGrath Road. There have been 5 property crimes between January 10 to January 30, 2012, which include 2 residential break and enters, 2 auto thefts, and 1 recovered auto.

Ford Creek Area Property Crime:

This area includes Ford Creek Place and Bradshaw Place (just East of Annis Road/Highway 1, and on Prairie Central Road between Gibson Road and Upper Prairie Road. There have been 4 property crimes which include 3 break and enters (2 residential and an attempt business break and enter) and 1 auto theft.

AGASSIZ/HARRISON
West of downtown Agassiz and Harrison: In this area there have been 5 break and enters from January 9 to February 2, 2012, which include 4 residential and one to a barn.

HOPE
The area concentrated on includes 7th Avenue, Dewdney Avenue, and King Street where there have been 3 property crimes including 1 attempt theft of auto, 1 theft from vehicle, and 1 residential break and enter.
