Woman escapes police dragnet after attempting to rob Liquor Bin
Corky's was the scene of an attempted robbery early Monday evening.
n Monday around 7:30 P.M., a lone woman walked into Corky's Liquor Bin in the 45000 block of Yale Rd. and demanded cash saying she had a gun in her pocket.
A customer who was in the store at the time, wrestled with her, attempting to make an arrest, however she managed to get out the door without any money or store product.
According to the customer, she had a heavy object in her pocket.
She was last seen fleeing on foot toward the Safeway. Police moved in quickly but failed to located the woman who may have made good her escape in a vehicle. There was too much foot traffic for a police dog to be used so one wasn't brought in.
The woman is described as being in her 20's with shoulder length brown hair, wearing a puppy print jacket with a blue baseball cap with the words "Tap Out" on it and in white runners.
She also had what appeared to have an an unfinished tattoo outlined on one of her calves.
Thankfully, there were no injuries reported and police at last check were reviewing video tapes.
