This explosive dance theatre production follows the story of renowned jailbird Johnny B. Goode. Johnny’s hip-swinging, break dancing antics to such Elvis classics as “Jailhouse Rock” and “Blue Suede Shoes” will get you “All Shook Up” in your seats and in the aisles! While the warden has had his share of “Trouble” with Johnny, this well-liked jailbird and his dancing jailhouse buddies heat up the cell block as Johnny is issued his release papers in the opening act.
Upon his release, and feeling like he’s “Got A Lot of Living to Do”, Johnny heads straight for the lights of Las Vegas. Act II finds Johnny jazzing it up “Viva Las Vegas” style to the live vocalizations of renowned Elvis Tribute Artist “Ben ‘Preslee’ Klein”.
In the glam and glitter of a Las Vegas nightclub Marie, the most beautiful girl Johnny has ever seen, argues with her boyfriend. Johnny witnesses the breakup and develops a “Burning Love” after coming to her rescue. Marie soon becomes more than just “His Latest Flame”. The attraction is mutual as Johnny asks Marie “(Won’t You) Wear My Ring Around your Neck.” Johnny’s commitment is put the test however when he finds himself seriously tempted by Vegas’ top show girl, Lucinda, the “Devil in Disguise”. He “Can’t Help Falling in Love” with both women and though he tries to repair the relationship with his one true love, Marie, his antics have left nothing but “Suspicious Minds”.
Alienated and alone, Johnny
ends up at “Heartbreak Hotel” down on Lonesome Street in Act III. Johnny
“Feels So Bad”. He realizes the mistake he’s made. Searching for “Anything
That’s Part of You”, Johnny feels more like a “Hound Dog” as he
laments “Put the Blame On Me”. Before long, Johnny finds Marie alone and
“Crying In the Chapel” where he assures her, “(You Were) Always On My
Mind.” Act III ends with love rekindled and Johnny looking for “A Little
Less Conversation” and a little more action!
