Mounties look for fresh recruits

he Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment is seeking Auxiliary Recruits for the RCMP Volunteer Program.  


If you are willing to challenge yourself, apply today to become an RCMP Auxiliary.  As an RCMP Auxiliary member you will have the opportunity to develop invaluable skills, gain partnerships in the community and learn life skills that will help you succeed in today’s world.


Volunteers must meet the following qualifications;

       1. Be a Canadian citizen
2. Be between the ages of 19 & 60 years of age
3. Have a minimum education – high school diploma
4. Have a Full, valid, class 5, BC drivers license
5. Be in good physical condition
6. Be of good character
7. Obtain and maintain a RCMP security clearance
8. Display a mature and responsible attitude
9. Be able to volunteer a minimum of 160 hours per year for a minimum of 2 years
10. Be a resident of Chilliwack, Agassiz, Hope, or Boston Bar
11. Be able to attend basic training sessions of 3 hours every Tuesday and Thursday and 8 hours  each Saturday for 4 months, September 9, 2014 to December 13, 2014

January 13, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. - Agassiz Community Policing Office

January 14, 2104 at 7:00 p.m. - Boston Bar Community Policing Office

January 16, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. - Hope Community Policing Office

January 20, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. - Chilliwack City Hall, Counsel Chambers

January 22, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. - Chilliwack City Hall, Counsel Chambers


“Volunteering as an Auxiliary for the RCMP is a life changing, exciting and rewarding experience that will provide you with a network of knowledge and skills you can use for future employment or just in daily life,” says Constable Cynthia Kershaw.


If you are unable to make any of the above sessions, you can pick up an application package at any of the RCMP Offices or the Community Policing Office on Wellington Avenue, located at 45877 Wellington Avenue, Chilliwack, BC.
