The Grizzlies football team blitzed council chambers last week.

hat were you doing when you were in grade eight? Last week, Chilliwack's premier football team the G.W. Graham Grizzlies rushed City Hall at the last council meeting to accept kudos for winning the BC Provincial Championships.

This was the first time a local school team won the prestigious 2013 BC High School Football AA Junior Varsity cup.

The Grizzlies took home the title after edging out Parksville's Ballenas Whalers in an exciting finish at B.C. Place November 30.

Team staff in attendance included Head Coach Laurie Smith, O-Line and Defensive Line Coach Suhk Parmar and Associate Offensive Coordinator and O-Line Coach Luke Acheson watched with pride as Mayor Sharon Gaetz read each of their player's names out and personally greeted them afterward.
