he Upper Fraser Valley Regional RCMP are gearing up for this year's 4th annual Stuff the Cruiser event. All proceeds raised will go to the local Food Banks in the community to help support families in need this holiday season.

 

The events will be taking place on Saturday December 15, 2012 at various locations throughout the Upper Fraser Valley.

 

"This is our way of engaging the community in a positive way every year and it's an event that we all look forward to being a part of," said Cst. Tracy Wolbeck. "This event brings the police and the public together for a common goal and charity really tends to unify a community. We are really proud to be involved in this."

Police cars will be parked at three Overwaitea Foods locations on December 15 in Chilliwack from 10 am-4 pm ready to collect non-perishable food items as well as cash donations. Save-On Foods at 6014 Vedder Road, Price Smart Foods at 46020 Yale Road, and Cooper's Foods at 45635 Tamihi Way.

 

In Agassiz, the event will be held from 9 am-3 pm at Super Value at 7024 Cheam Road.

 

In Hope, the event will be held from 10 am-2 pm at Cooper's Foods at 559 Old Hope Princeton Way and in Boston Bar on December 15 from 11 am-3 pm at Kal Tire at 48075 Trans Canada Highway.

 

The needs of the Food Banks change from year to year however, items they are always looking for are diapers, baby formula, canned fruits and vegetables, and soups. All events in all locations will be taking place on December 15, 2012.
