Luckily, there were no serious injuries after this motor vehicle accident Friday.

he world didn't end on Friday like the Mayan calendar indicated, but it did come close for a pregnant woman after the vehicle she was driving was "side-swiped" by another at the corner of Wellington Ave. and Corbould St. about 8:30 P.M.

BC Ambulance paramedics checked the woman who appeared to have no injuries, but she was taken to Chilliwack General Hospital for  further checks into her and the baby's condition.

The accident was the result of driver inattention at the 4-way stop.

During the Christmas rush, and on these slick roads, it's a good idea to slow it down and do a triple check at every intersection.

According to ICBC's crash map, there have been 20 crashes at that corner since 2007.
