Festival of Trees at the Coast Hotel until Dec 24

his week, the Coast Chilliwack's lobby is an enchanting forest during their 2nd Annual Festival of Trees, featuring ten trees decorated by students from schools around School District 33.

 

The public is invited to vote for their favourite tree until Christmas Eve when the votes are tallied.

 

The Coast wants to help put food under the trees of needy families and individuals this holiday season and is asking for non-perishable donations for the Salvation Army in Chilliwack.

 

Folks can bring along a non-perishable food item to leave for the Salvation Army food bank.

 

"The trees will be on display throughout the holiday season and we encourage the public to visit the hotel and enjoy the spectacular display of lights and support the students and vote for the trees," said Coast Hotel rep Deborah Dennis in an e-mail to The Voice last week.

 

The class that garners the most votes wins the coveted prize of pizza for their class.

 

All ten trees are so nicely done that people won’t have an easy time picking their favourite.

 

“What a tough decision as they are all incredible,” Dennis said.

 

The trees were generously donated by Highland Christmas Tree Farm in the Columbia Valley. The winners
