A Bing Crosby Carnival
Wet weather fails to dampen holiday spirit
It's a wonderful life, Saturday at the Winter Carnival.
hat would a winter carnival be without a little bit of winter, and what kid ever let being pelted by heavy freezing slush get in the way of taking a spin on the Monster Truck ride?
The families and individuals who did brave the weather Saturday, were paid back threefold in fun at the 2nd Annual Winter Carnival hosted by the Downtown Business Improvement Association, Prospera Credit Union and the City of Chilliwack.
Singer Kat had some seasonal favourites, followed by local musician Andrew Putt, who performed a solo acoustic guitar set, including an excellent rendition of the Lumineers’ Ho Hey song.
The Carnival was the final BIA offering in a series of Christmas-themed events throughout December.
Featured on site were rides from West Coast Amusements, midway games, prizes, vendors, crafts, Rotary Train rides and Christmas movies on the city’s big screen produced by Wayne Price. The sound system and entertainment stage were brought in by Jeff Bonner from Tractorgrease.
