Chilliwack Santa Claus parade rings in the holiday festivities

ruckloads of exhilarated people lined the sidewalks of Wellington and Yale Rd Saturday evening in anticipation of the 2011 Chilliwack Santa Claus Parade hosted by local radio station 98.3 Star FM. Morning radio show personalities Scott Riley and Lisa Steven emceed the event.
For a time, people were able to forget about everything else and just concentrate on having fun. The colourful array of floats wound through the downtown business sector and past the judges opposite the stage where dignitaries huddled against the bracing night.
Mike Hellinger wrote in a station release Tuesday that approximately 20,000 people took in the parade.
"We had 82 entries and would like to thank each and every person who participated," he said. "A huge congratulations to this years award winners."
