Launch party to unveil Greater Vancouver Zoo's new website

n Thursday August 22nd, 2:00pm-3:00pm the Greater Vancouver Zoo will make their digital mark on the Zoo Experience.  


In partnership with innovative Abbotsford & Gastown-based marketing firm, Jelly Marketing, the Aldergrove facility is hosting an exclusive event to launch their brand new website and e-learning experience. Local press and VIPs are invited to join organizers for a wine and cheese reception to celebrate Zoo 3.0. 


Inspired by the Zoo's desire to enhance the zoo-goer experience through technology, Zoo 3.0 has developed out of an exciting new partnership with Jelly Marketing. Jelly and the Greater Vancouver Zoo have developed a fresh way to make a lasting digital footprint on BC Tourism and the local community. "We love this place!" says Jelly Marketing's lead strategist, Darian Kovacs, "We are so excited to take the zoo experience to the next level!" Jelly's ingenuity has certainly done that. The new website features Zoo 3.0: an all-access e-learning portal complete with rare footage and facts about the Zoo's featured animals: Macaw, Grizzly Bear, Hippopotamus, Siberian Tiger, Oregon Spotted Frog, Muskox

The story of the Greater Vancouver Zoo began in the late 1960's when world traveler and businessman, Pat Hines, purchased 120 acres of land in Aldergrove, British Columbia. It was ideal for the realization of his dream to create a game farm. At first registered as the World Wide Game Farm Ltd. it became known as the Vancouver Game Farm, which had its official opening on August 20th, 1970.

In 1999 the name of the Greater Vancouver Zoological Centre was changed to the Greater Vancouver Zoo, along with a change of owners and with further improvements for the facility and its inhabitants. In 2012, the Zoo was focused on our successful reaccreditation with CAZA (Canada’s Accredited Zoos and Aquariums), and building our new Animal Care Center for sick and injured animals.

Zoo 3.0 marks an amazing tech development in the zoo experience -- an event not to be missed. August 21st, Zoo 3.0 will be unveiled at the exclusive launch party hosted by Jelly Marketing & the Greater Vancouver Zoo. Come get a look at some of the world's most unique creatures. Representatives of the press (and their kids!) are invited to experience the magic first-hand, and stay for a wine and cheese (and grape juice!) reception.
