Cultivating Culture

Stó:lō host fun day to create and learn August 11 at SRC

nce again, Stó:lō Nation is hosting a Cultural Experience Series event on Saturday August 11th. Events are growing and are considered very successful.


These are all ages, open, public welcome, free events meant to bring a diverse population together to create understanding, engagement and community.

Create ~ Community ~ Experience

Saturday, August 11 2012 from 11am to 3pm at the Stó:lō Resouorce Centre at Sto:lo Nation, #10 – 7201 Vedder Road Chilliwack BC

11:00am - Traditional Welcome & Welcome Song
11:30am - Xe'pay - Cedar Stories & Teachings
12:00pm - Traditional Salmon Dinner (by donation)
1:00pm - Learn and Create with the Artist

Create: Learn from Stó:lō Master Cedar Weaver, Wendy Ritchie, (Skowkale First Nation) —  create a cedar craft

Community: Come together with your neighbors and learn about the origins of the Cedar Tree, and teachings of Xe`pay — an ancient Stó:lō ancestor

Experience: Experience a part of Sto:lo Culture — take home and share what you’ve learned
