Manufactured Home Blaze

Firefighters contain blaze but too late for family pet

t 3:25 P.M. Wednesday afternoon, Chilliwack firefighters from fire halls 1 and 4 responded to a structure fire in the 45000 block of Watson Road.

Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from a single wide manufactured home. Fire crews entered the structure and extinguished a fire located in the kitchen area.

Owners were not home at the time of the fire. Unfortunately their cat perished.

Fire damage was limited to the kitchen area with smoke damage to the rest of the trailer.

There were no firefighter injuries. Cause of the fire is under investigation and is considered accidental.
