Livestock saved, farm equipment lost

hortly after 1230 this morning the fire department was called out to a barn fire in the area of the 49000 block of Chilliwack Central Road. On arrival fire fighters noted that the commodity barn was fully involved and the roof had already collapsed.
In addition the exterior of a large dairy barn had started to burn and the farm operators were busy moving livestock. Fire fighters quickly put out the fire in the dairy barn and assisted in moving the animals. The commodity barn was destroyed.
22 fire fighters from three fire halls in 6 fire engines responded to this call which resulted in no fire fighter or civilian injuries. No animals were injured.
The fire is under investigation by fire department officials.
