Boston Bar RCMP catch couple with 335 mature pot plants in car

Vehicle involved in marijuana seizure.

 

n August 18, 2011, Boston Bar RCMP seized several marihuana plants as a result of a suspected growing operation.

       

Two RCMP members observed a vehicle in the driveway of a residence on Riverside Drive which was believed to be unoccupied. The members saw the vehicle leave the residence and pulled it over. Members could smell an overpowering odour of marihuana coming from the vehicle.

The police located 335 marihuana plants freshly harvested in the rear compartment of a green 1991 Toyota Rav 4. A 49 year old man and a 43 year old woman, both from Surrey, were subsequently arrested.

The charge of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking is being recommended for the man. The couple was released from custody, the man on a Promise to Appear in court on December 6, 2011.
