Wetland tour, BBQ May 6

iscover the Green Heart of Chilliwack. The Browne Creek Wetlands are a gem in our community.


Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) staff referred to it as the "Stanley Park of  Chilliwack".


"Combined with the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve, Peach Creek Rotary Trail and the Vedder Rotary Trail on the north side of the river, we think this natural loop deserves recognition as the green heart of Chilliwack," said Froese in a release Monday.

Where: Browne Creek Wetlands - 5205 Browne Road - off Vedder Mountain Road
to the end of Browne Road, over the dyke.  Parking available
When: Saturday May 6, 2017 11:00 am Guided tour of Wetland trails. Noon BBQ lunch, meet and greet.

A two-part Event is happening at the Wetlands on Saturday May 6.

At 11am, join us as we take a guided walk through the wetlands trail system, with Ian Stephen of The WaterWealth Project providing input on local water protection, and Victor Froese with his expertise on the actual workings and development of the Wetlands.

At Noon we'll be hosting a BBQ lunch. If you can't make it for the walk, you can still join us for lunch!

There will be an address from Green Party candiate Wayne Froese, about his vision for Chilliwack in seeing the further expansion of green spaces, more habitat enhancement, and greater opportunities in eco-tourism. The Wetlands are a model for all of these. Come and experience it for yourself!
