Cool Cats

Tiger Moon heads up the Chilliwack River Valley April 29

Daniel Tait, Tiger Moon

Catch Tiger Moon for one show only at Tractorgrease Saturday.

iger Moon is a West Canadian folk duo. Boasting harmonious sounds, heartfelt melodies, and foot-stomping rhythms, this is a pair to be reckoned with. The band is preparing to release their brand new record titled Cariboo & Whiskey, a release that has been two years in the making.

They perform with a guitar, mandolin, two sets of boots and two big, rich voices. Drawing their sound from traditional folk, Canadiana, soul, and rock, they are a minimalist barn-burning band with syrup-soaked harmonies.

Lowell Friesen was born to the dusty beat of Manitoban prairie rhythms and church choir harmonies, singer-songwriter Lowell Friesen, who now calls Vernon BC home, has been immersed in music since day one.

His sound is a rootsy blend of understated acoustic riffs, foot stomping banjo licks, heart felt lyrics and a mellow, yet slightly edgy charm and could be labeled folk, nu-grass or alt-country.
