Staff/Voice photos

A clerk waits outside the Chevron after being robbed Monday. Mounties preserve the scene while waiting forty minutes for a K9 unit to travel from Langley. There are only four police dog K9's in the Fraser Valley and so they all have to be shared between communities.

woman, armed with a small pocket-sized knife, walked into the Chevron gas station in the 4500-block of Yale Rd around 9:30 p.m. on Monday and demanded cash.

The clerk opened the till to confirm there weren't any bills and the suspect scooped up approximately $20 in coins and fled on foot. Someone at the station gave chase and they ran across the street behind the Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant.

RCMP have yet to comment about the details, however reports are the desperate damsel is described as Caucasian, around 30-years-old, and was wearing a grey hoodie. She was last seen running southbound on School Street.

Police did everything they could to corral the woman, but somehow she gave them the slip.
