Police located the stolen taxi the moment it was ditched by thieves on Sunday. Below, PDS tracks down Main Street.

Cheam Taxi driver was with a man and woman at Wal-Mart around 6 p.m. Sunday when one of the two pepper-sprayed him multiple times and then stole the vehicle when he bailed.

The vehicle was found dumped at Westview Avenue and Glenwood Street.

Taxis are equipped with GPS, so police had something to work with. They got a glimpse of the nefarious duo and an officer chased them on foot but lost them somewhere in the vicinity of the hospital.

Mounties locked down the neighbourhood. A Police Dog Services K9 unit was dispatched and did a thorough search for blocks around where the suspects were last seen.

The driver was taken to Chilliwack General where he was treated for the spray.

Later, back at home, he told The Voice he was okay.

"Yeah, I'm fine," he said. "No problem."

Reports are the male suspect was about 6' tall, bald, wearing a black shirt tied at the back and black pants. The female was wearing a gray top with black pants.
